Re-Building Lives Together

This project includes the construction of four townhomes being phase one of a long-term project to construct twelve townhomes. Phase one will be located in rear yards of our three existing homes on Belaire Avenue. Using our existing land mass allows us to construct these homes at a very affordable level. Each townhome has two parking spaces on the ground level. The first level contains the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. On the second level are four bedrooms and a bathroom. These homes will be used for transitional housing purposes.

The Need:

Since 2015, the number of homeless people in Canada has doubled, and has reached a total of 255,000 people. This increase has been very evident in Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley. The number of people in “tent cities” has increased dramatically.

Similarly, the demand for our services has increased correspondingly. We generally have a waiting list of 20 to 40 people seeking entry. Addictions and deaths from illicit drugs increased so that now it is the largest annual death rate, in B.C., outside of natural causes. The great demand for increased recovery services and safe/affordable housing is logical and apparent.
