Freedom’s Door is an abstinence based recovery home for men in Kelowna. They serve over 100 men in a long term, live in, program based upon the AA Big Book, professional counselling, and many lifestyle training programs. Freedom’s Door relies heavily on donations from the community.

This year Santa came early through gifts from Rona and the Mission Group. Rona held a draw for their customers and Mission Group, a local development company, was the winner of a $5000.00 gift card for Bosch tools. Mission Group advised that they wanted to pay it forward by giving this gift card to Freedom’s Door.

Helmut Hubert, Freedom’s Door Chairman, advised, “Freedom’s Door assists our residents in gaining educational training and employment. To get a job in the trades a new employee must arrive at the job site with appropriate tools in his belt. Freedom’s Door offers a tool loan program whereby a resident may borrow all the tools needed for his new job. After working for a time, the employee buys their own tools and returns the borrowed tools to Freedom’s Door. Employment barriers are reduced, and the construction industry gets trades people for their projects.”

“Mission Group is honoured to collaborate with Freedom’s Door as they empower men to rebuild their lives, unlocking their potential and creating pathways to lasting growth and success. Together, we’re building a stronger, more vibrant community where everyone can thrive,” replied, Jonathan Friesen, CEO of Mission Group.

The employees of Rona held a reception at the store to present the $5000 Bosch gift card and to applaud the good work of Mission Group and Freedom’s Door
