The Freedom’s Door Chairman, Helmut Hubert, stated, “The Belaire Townhomes Project is an initiative of Freedom’s Door which will lead people from living in tents to a whole new life of recovery from their former chaos in addiction and mental health issues. Freedom’s Door has proven for 22 years that real recovery, to a life of sobriety and healthy productivity, is possible.”

In explaining why the Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club has made a major donation to Freedom’s Door, Randall Bamford stated:

“The Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club understands the importance of this facility and its team as it supports those that are troubled in our community. We have a history of support for Freedom’s Door and trust that our fundraising dollars will make a difference today and for the future. We want to thank those that support our fundraisers and in turn allow us to do good in our community,” said Randall Bamford, Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club Past President and current Fundraising Chair 2024.

“The mission of Freedom’s Door is to bring hope, healing, and wholeness to men suffering from addiction and mental health issues. This means that with each new home being created by Freedom’s Door, people will be removed from living in tents and moving to a life of healing, family reconciliation, and employment. The Kelowna Sunrise Rotary Club is to be applauded for all of the good community service works that they have carried out for decades,” affirmed Peter Lees, Executive Director of Freedom’s Door.

The City of Kelowna has approved the development permit and as soon as the building permit is issued, construction will commence on Belaire Avenue.
